#100jobs Countdown - 5 weeks to go

We now have five weeks left in the countdown for our #100jobs campaign and we are delighted to confirm that we  now have   103 jobs pledged by Galway City and County employers as of yesterday.

Now we really believe that with a few more pledges on your part, and a little bit of job matching on our part, we can have 100 in new  jobs by 31 December 2016. We think we can but we need your help to make it happen.

If you are a business person looking to employ staff we would be delighted to have you help us by pledging a job.  In return we will promise to do our very best to find you the best person in Galway  for your job.

Maybe you aren't in a position to help us hire directly?  Don't worry!  You can still help us by spreading the word on Social Media, or by Word of Mouth.

If you want to find out more about the campaign just click on  #100jobs for all the information, or you can give us a call on 091 755 235 or 086 3800444, or send an email to pauline@employabilitygalway.ie

Well, just when we thought our year couldn't get any better, we were thrilled to be announced as the Customer Service Category winners at the Galway Chamber of Commerce Business Awards last Saturday night.  This award means a huge amount to everybody who works at EmployAbility Galway, and will have a positive impact in helping us develop our business.  The publicity from this event and the credibility it gives us will lead to increased levels of employer interest and  more jobs for our cleints clients.

We would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for running the awards, Bank of Ireland who sponsored the Customer Service Category, Customer Service Excellence Ireland for their excellent training, Department of Social Protection who fund our work, Eyre Square Dental who won last year for sharing their Customer Service Excellence secrets with us,  OnePageCRM for making it possible to provide excellent customer service, our Board of Directors who give their time voluntarily, and finally our Patron Sean O Coistealbha for his belief in our work.

Congratulations to all the other category winners and especially to the overall winners SSL Logistics

#100jobs October update

We just wanted to give a little update on how we were doing with the #100jobs campaign at the end of October.  At the moment we have 92 job pledges and 81 people supported with new jobs for the end of October. We believe that not only can we get 100 pledges at this point but with a little bit of assistance from employers in Galway City and County we may fill 100 jobs by 31 December of this year.  Wouldn't that be a fantastic way to commemorate the 1916 centenary?

If you would like further information or to pledge us a job please give us a call at 086 3800444 or send us an email to info@employabilitygalway.ie , alternatively you can fill in our online form #100jobs

Thanks so much to everyone who has pledged a job, hired a candidate or helped us spread the word via social media, word of mouth, recommendation, newspaper, or over coffee

Customer Service Excellence

Thanks so much to Adele from Customer Service Excellence Ireland who called into us last Friday to present our Customer Service Excellence Certificate.

The photos above show Adele presenting the Certificate to Tracy, Damian and Mary who took one for the team! All three of them were lucky enough to be anonymously assessed on their phone techniques, customer service techniques, follow up regarding queries, and face to face meetings with Independent Assessors.  Thanks to their professionalism combined with the hard graft put in by the rest of the  team over the years to develop our social media, website, and hard-copy information we scored a whopping 95.4%

Our thanks also go to Galway Technology Centre, as their reception skills were highly rated, along with the overall  layout and  ambiance of the building and office areas.   The assessor was very impressed with our location.

Galway Junior Film Fleadh - Life Animated

The Galway Film Fleadh have been in contact with us in relation to a film they are showing in the Town Hall Theatre which is part of the Junior Film Fleadh but will also be included in the programme for the Galway City Council Social Inclusion week.

"Life" is a  coming of age story about a boy and his family who overcame great challenges by turning Disney animated movies into a language to express love, loss, kinship and brotherhood.

Life, Animated tells the remarkable story of how Owen found in Disney animation a pathway to language and a framework for making sense of the world. By interweaving classic Disney sequences with scenes from Owen’s life, the film explores how identification and empathy with characters like Simba, Jafar, and Ariel enabled him to understand his feelings and interpret reality. Beautiful, original animations further give form to Owen’s fruitful dialogue with the Disney films as he imagines himself heroically facing adversity in a tribe of sidekicks. With an arsenal of narratives at his disposal, Owen rises to meet the challenges of adulthood in this moving coming-of-age tale.

Director Roger Ross Williams
Cast Owen Suskind, Ron Suskindr

This is a free screening open to everyone but seats must be booked with the Town Hall Theatre ( 091 569 777 ). Donations can be made on the day to Galway Autism Partnership.

Further information is available from the Galway Film Fleadh

Business After Hours

Well its no secret we really love being based in Galway Technology Centre so it was great to be part of the Galway Technology Centre, Chamber Business After Hours (BAH) which was held upstairs in the Mezzanine area last Thursday 29 September 2016.

Galway Chamber have a very active Business Network so there was a really good turnout of attendees, and we got to meet our new neighbours from Mathworks who have just moved into the unit behind us .

There was music from the fabulous  Contempo Quartet and just a great atmosphere with a lot of people lingering on after the main event and networking was over.

Niamh Costello the General Manger of the Centre addressed the attendees and hearing her speak we  felt pretty chuffed to be part of the "40 companies based here,  companies that are full of creativity and ambition and through the smart use of new technology and innovation they are helping to shape the future".

Plans for the redevelopment on the first floor were on display, so we are looking forward to seeing these developments over the coming months
