who is employability galway for

EmployAbility Galway is specifically for  people who have a disability, mental health difficulty, or are in recovery from illness or injury that require the support of an Employment Facilitator to find a job.  The Department of Social Protection fund us to provide a Supported Employment service to this particular group of job seekers who are living anywhere in Galway City or County.  

Supported Employment is recognized internationally as a model for helping people find work.  It is centered around you having one to one support from an Employment Facilitator to help you find work through a structured support system

what is the criteria

The following criteria is put in place by Department of Social Protection for clients of all the EmployAbility companies funded by them nationally.  

Clients must be willing and able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week, and able to progress to independent employment by the end of an 18 month period,  and be between the ages of 18 and 65. We are required to exit people at the end of the 18 month period so we can work with new clients who are also waiting on support from us

Clients are required to be job ready, as our goal is to support you in finding a paid job,  and help you become independent in that role so you are able to work independently without our support .

To be referred clients must must be job ready.  Job readiness is defined by the Department as having the necessary, training, motivation, education and ability to progress to work
