As a job seeker with a disability are you finding it hard to get the job you want?
If so then perhaps we can help.

 
 
 

Employ Ability is a state funded employment service for people with disabilities. We can provide one to one practical support to suit your needs. We can provide you with an Employment Facilitator or Job Coach who can bring you through the four stage process outlined below
 
Stage 1. Employment Needs Assessment, Vocational Profiling and Career Planning
  • Getting to know you.
  • Identifying barriers, obstacles and any support needs.
  • Helping you to identify your skills and abilities
  • Preparing CV's and references etc
  • Matching your skills to suitable jobs
  • Deveoping an Action Plan for Job Sourcing
Stage 2. Job Sourcing & Marketing
  • Providing support to help you look for work.
  • Working together to find a job
  • Helping you to prepare for interview
  • Going to interviews with you (if required)
  • Helping to agree your terms and contitions of employment

Stage 3. Progression to Open Employment

  • Training you on the job,
  • Developing your work skills
  • Mentoring
  • Accessing grants
  • Supporting your employer
  • Helping with your contract and wages

Stage 4. Progression to Independent Employment without Job Coach support
 
  • Helping you to move from working with our support to working independently where you no longer need our support

 

The Criteria for our service is laid down by Department of Social Protection and is as follows. 
 
The service is open to people with different types of disability and varying degrees of disability who are job ready and need the support of a Job Coach to obtain employment in the open labour market.  The service provides 18 months of support and is open to


A person who has the necessary

  • training,
  • education,
  • motivation
  • ability
to pursue work / career in the open labour market and if needed have the transport to get to and from work.

A person who is willing and able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week
A person who is below the age of 65 as any client availing of Employ Ability must exit the service on the date of their 65th birthday
