Employment Grants and Supports

There are a number of grants and supports available to support you in the workplace.  With our colleagues in FAS we can access these grants on your behalf or on the behalf of your employer.  The following is a list of the most frequently used

Reasonable Accommodation Fund for the Employment of Disabled People

The link at the bottom will bring you to the FAS booklet which gives information on the following grants that we can access from FAS on your behalf
  • Workplace Equipment Adaptation Grant:  This grant can be used to buy assistive technology to help you in your new role, or to get a work premises modified to provide better access in the workplace
  • Job Interview Interpreter Grant:  This grant can be used to provide you with a sign language interpreter for interview
  • Personal Reader Grant:  This grant can be used for blind or visually impaired workers who require assisted reading in their job
  • Employee Retention Grant:  This is for employees who have become disabled to help them return to work

Wage Subsidy Scheme

This is  another support service which provides financial assistance to employers in the form of a wage subsidy, and it may help with getting you a job.  Information on the FAS Wage Subsidy Scheme can be accessed through the link below.  The application form can be viewed by clicking on the link below.  Our staff would be happy to bring you through the application process and can give further information and advice.  We can access the grant through our colleagues in the main Department of Social Protection Employment Services Office.  Further information is available here
